Body-Positive Calendar Project - Dare to Bare?

At Hamiedog, we’ve always believed that confidence has nothing to do with clothing size, age, or the number of hours spent in the gym. Confidence comes from feeling comfortable in your own skin -- and that’s exactly what inspired our newest community project.

We’re excited to announce that we are developing the Hamiedog Gentlemen’s Calendar, a Calendar Girls–style, body‑positive celebration of real men from the North East. The calendar will feature tasteful, modestly‑covered portraits of local volunteers, photographed with everyday props and plenty of personality. No professional models. No filters. Just real lads, real stories, and real confidence.

This project is designed to be fun, uplifting, and meaningful. While the photos will have a cheeky sense of humour, they will always remain respectful, safe, and modest. The heart of the calendar is body acceptance - showing that every man, regardless of shape, size, age, or background, deserves to feel proud of who he is.

Supporting Men’s Mental Health

Alongside promoting body positivity, the Hamiedog Gentlemen’s Calendar will raise money for a men’s mental health charity. Men across the UK continue to face challenges around wellbeing, confidence, and emotional support, and we want this project to contribute to the conversation in a positive way. Every calendar sold will help fund vital services that support men in our community.

Calling All Volunteers

We’re now looking for volunteers to take part in the photoshoot. You don’t need modelling experience - in fact, we’d prefer you didn’t. We want dads, grandads, students, tradesmen, office workers, gym‑goers, non‑gym‑goers, and everyone in between. If you’re from the North East and fancy being part of something fun and meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

The photos will be tasteful and non‑sexual, with modesty protected using props such as mugs, toolboxes, beach items, seasonal objects, or simple waist‑up portraits. Volunteers can choose the level of comfort that suits them best.
