  • The Body Survey 2023

We have just launched our new project for summer: The Body Survey 2023 and we want as many men, and those who identify as male, to take part. We want to get a true understanding on what the real body size and dimensions are of people who shop, or want to shop with us. It may well be possible that we aren't catering for everyone and this is something which we need to know, so we can fix it! We also want to find out what we all like about our body, what we don't and the pressures which may or may not be put upon us from various sources. In the future we will publish the anonymous results which we hope you will check back for. We are also launching our 'Dare To Bare' gallery for men to prove that we should embrace what we've got, whatever shape and size we are. Please take part in the survey if you can as the more competed results we get - the more accurate it will be. No obligations to answer all questions but eternal thanks for getting involved. The survey is live until the end of October at https://www.hamiedog.co.uk/the-body-survey. If you have any queries don't hesitate to contact us.

  • The King's Coronation

Saturday 6 May 2023 sees a historic day for our country with the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort taking place at Westminster Abbey. There is no doubt that many people will have their eyes on the television during the course of the day, but for those of you who prefer a 'business as normal' day we are pleased to confirm that the shop will be open from 9:30am to 5:00pm. We will be celebrating the Coronation along with many of the other businesses in the town and will have our shop windows decorated with the Union Flag to commemorate this very special occasion. Whatever you are doing on Saturday 6 May, we hope you enjoy it.

  • Well done Whitley Bay!

We have been here in Whitley Bay for over 6 years now and we are really pleased to hear that the town has won the Best Place to Live in northern England award by The Times! Now, of course, we have known for many years that Whitley Bay is the place to be. But now it seems to be finally official and we love it! A lot of hard work has gone into the town over recent years and it is brilliant to see that this has been recognised and celebrated by a national newspaper. This hopefully means more visitors to the town and more of you lovely people calling into our store to shop for some of the best northern themed clothing, designed right here in the local area. If you haven't been to Whitley Bay for a while and think it hasn't changed, you may be in for a pleasant surprise. Come and see for yourself! View the article here (subscription may be required).

  • Early closing on Saturday 25 February

We just want to let you know that our Whitley Bay shop will be closing earlier at 4pm this Saturday 25 February. This is due to a family event and we hope it doesn't cause any inconvenience. This time of the day on a Saturday is normally the quietest so we are not expecting any major impact. Don't forget you can still shop online 24 hours a day :)

  • Statement regarding Evri

With immediate effect Hamiedog Menswear will no longer use Evri as a delivery method for our customer orders. Like many people across the country, we have been extremely disappointed with Evri's recent performance and have personally been affected by this. Some of our customer orders over the Christmas period were delayed to an unacceptable level. Evri have been particularly unhelpful to customer complaints regarding missing and delayed parcels. This level of service does not match the qualities and values that we at Hamiedog stand for. We apologise and sympathise if you were unlucky to have been caught up in the ongoing mess that Evri are currently in. All future customer orders will be fulfilled with a reliable delivery service and prices may vary as a result, but our opinion is that if you pay cheap you get cheap, and unreliable. We will still offer free courier delivery to all orders where £50 or higher has been spent. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries regarding delivery.

  • Online Ordering

As the UK postal and courier services are struggling to cope with demand for their services, our web store is now only available for Click and Collect orders until 23 December. We would hate for you to miss out on your order because of the situation but you are you can still pick it up from our Whitley Bay store while we are open before our festive break. We are open all the way up to 4pm on Christmas Eve, then we'll be taking a week off and return on new year's eve and it'll be business as normal from the first Tuesday of 2023. Our online shop will also be closed for a week - hopefully by January the country might be back to normal for people receiving their post. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries.

  • Latest order date for courier delivery

Although we haven't used Royal Mail for some time for our deliveries, the majority of courier services have been affected by the ongoing strike action which is having a massive effect on the country's post. Whether you agree with the strikes or not, there is no denying that businesses are again having to work around them and come up with alternative plans. We have made the decision to have our latest order date to ensure Christmas delivery as 18 December. Anything ordered after this date for postal delivery will still be sent straight away but we are unable to guarantee it will arrive before 25 December. Largely the time it takes to receive a delivery is out of our hands but this of course does not affect our free local delivery option or click and collect. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any queries.

  • Christmas Late Night Shopping

We're excited to be taking part in the forthcoming late night shopping events organised by Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd December. We will be open until 7pm on both evenings, possibly extended until 8pm if enough of you are still out and about by then. We're also giving away a free gift with every purchase made during both evenings, while stocks last of course. Times are tough for everyone at the moment, businesses included. But Whitley Bay is made of strong stuff and we are looking forward to seeing as many of you supporting your local shops as possible. Shopping on your high street has never been more important. For more information on what to expect during the evenings, check out the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/563883785510879.

  • Queen Elizabeth II

All of us at Hamiedog Menswear join the rest of the country and indeed the rest of the world to express our extreme sadness at the passing of our wonderful Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen dedicated over 70 years of her life to serving others and whilst this moment in our country's history is incredibly moving, it is also an opportunity to celebrate the full life of our much loved monarch and everything she has achieved in her 96 years. As we start a new era with King Charles III stepping up to follow the impeccable job that his mother has completed, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Royal Family and hope that they all are able to find time to grieve in private outside of their intense public duties which still must take place during this time. Our regular store opening times may be affected by the schedules in place over the coming weeks and we are sure that you will all understand if we make the decision to close in respect. In the meantime, we have a small display in our shop windows to mark this sad occasion and our in-store music will be carefully chosen during the period of mourning ahead of us. Rest in peace, Ma'am. God save the King.
