We know that town centre parking can often be a hot topic of conversation, and Whitley Bay is no exception. There are plenty of places to park, but if you don't know - you don't know! We would all like free parking in our town centres but that just isn't possible for most. However... Park View Shopping Centre is just a two minute walk from where we are, on the same street. Their roof top car park has loads of spaces and is pretty reasonably priced and secure. Until the end of this month, we are going to pay for your all day parking ticket at Park View Shopping Centre, when you spend at least £20 in store and show us your valid parking ticket voucher. We will take £3 off your total bill at Hamiedog and this equates to all day parking at the shopping centre, which is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4:30pm on Sunday - so effectively you are getting your parking for free. This gives you time to check out the rest of the town, see what else is on offer! It is just a small gesture which we hope you will take us up on. It is not run in conjunction with any other business, it's just our way of asking you to to visit our special town and spending some time in our shop. We would like to thank you all very much for your patience and kind words while our Whitley Bay shop has been closed due to staff illness. The good news is that Maz is now feeling much better and we are able to re-open again, back to normal hours with immediate effect. Having a family owned business is fantastic but unfortunately when someone becomes poorly, it is really difficult for us to arrange staff cover because we are such a small team. We are really excited to bring you clothing once more from one of the most loved local brands in the north-east: Longsands Clothing Co. Longsands have been around since 2014 when their first store opened just a few miles from us in Tynemouth, offering a British alternative to the big California surf brands we all know and love. Since then, they have diversified their offering and have expanded into cafe bars and have two branches of their Apres concept in North Shields and Morpeth. Some of you may remember that we have stocked Longsands in the past and they were long overdue a return to Hamiedog but that time is now and we have an initial small selection of their latest collection but this is just the start! Some of their gear is already on our website but we recommend that you call in to our Whitley Bay shop to see the rest of it. Some awesome designs for the summer!

As we all celebrate a fantastic 70 years of service by Her Majesty The Queen, we are pleased to be open as normal on Thursday 2nd June, Friday 3rd June and Saturday 4th June. So if you're taking part in the Whitley Bay Platinum Jubilee Trail, having a walk about the coast or searching for an early Father's Day present we will be here for you. You can also buy Whitley Bay Gift Vouchers from us during this time as well as collect your Wish Shopping deliveries. We have partnered with a new courier service following issues experienced earlier in the year with our previous provider. The good news is that the delivery charges are just about the same as they were before but as an added extra, if you spend £50 or more in our online store you will receive automatic free standard courier delivery! You don't need to do anything other than make your purchase as normal, then choose Standard Delivery during the checkout process and if your order qualifies you'll get free delivery. You can of course always upgrade to paid priority delivery if you need things a bit quicker. As a small independent business, your satisfaction with all elements of buying from us is extremely important so please pass on any feedback - good or bad - with our new delivery service.

We are going to trial extending of our opening hours this summer and will be looking for someone to fill the position of Sales Assistant for around 6 hours every Wednesday, with the possibility of being asked to cover additional days as required. Taking on staff is something which is brand new for us as we are a family business, and this is why we are starting off very small. Unfortunately we have been let down too many times recently by our current courier service. This is disappointing not only for us but for our customers as, although it is something out of our control it reflects bad on us when an item is delayed. So with this in mind, we are immediately moving away from our current provider which means we will no longer offer delivery via Hermes or InPost. Having a reliable courier service is very important to us, so we are now looking to partner with an alternative service. In the meantime, please order as you normally would via our website. We will ensure that your order is delivered by Royal Mail or a courier service that we know will deliver within expected timescales. Please accept our apologies if you have been affected by a delivery service which did not meet your expectations. Although this is largely out of our control, what we can do about it is to choose a courier which has the same high standards as us.

It's our passion to work with north-east designers and suppliers. It is what makes Hamiedog special. We're really pleased to be the only local store stocking a selection of awesome gear by the Cramlington based D-ROCK. Superb quality, cool and funky streetwear which are good for casual dress as well as something a bit more smart with their versatile designs and ideas. We've started small with just a few lines but we think you'll like this initial collection of tops and we also have a full tracksuit available too (which can be bought as a separate jacket and trackies). Welcome to 2022! Unfortunately we have been affected by Covid-19 as we start the new year and this has meant we need to change when we can reopen. So, we are now planning to open again on Saturday 8 January from 9:30am to 5:00pm. We are really sorry about this but as you can imagine it is completely out of our control. We hope you understand. Don't worry, we are all fine. Our Christmas refund/exchange window has now been extended to the end of the month just in case you need it. If you have a Wish Shopping collection and need to query this, please contact Wish Customer Support via their shopping app. We do not have access to any of your account details. We have updated our policy for refunds, returns and exchanges. In addition to your statutory rights, our returns window has been extended to 31 January 2022. This means that you have more time to sort things out if you need to bring something back. Please also bring a receipt with you on the day. For purchases with a receipt, a full refund can be provided when you return your item in brand new, unworn condition (unless it is faulty). Refunds will be done using the same method which was used to make payment, so if you paid via credit/debit card you must bring the same card which was used at the time. If you paid via cash, your refund will be done in cash. Alternatively you are able to exchange your returned item for something else to the same value or higher (the difference must be paid for), subject to availability. If you can't see anything to exchange to on the day, we are happy to issue you with a store credit note for the value of the original item, valid for 6 months. For purchases with a gift receipt, your unworn returned item can be exchanged for something else (e.g. a different size or a totally different product) up to the same value as the original item. Anything which is exchanged to a higher value, the difference must be paid. If there is nothing suitable to exchange your item with, we will issue you with a store credit note for the original value of the item as purchased at the time. This will be valid for 6 months. For purchases without a receipt of any kind, you are welcome to exchange your unworn item for an alternative up to the same value. Anything which is exchanged to a higher value, the difference must be paid. We are unable to issue you with a refund without proof of purchase. It isn't long until the big day and this year Christmas falls on a weekend which means you have right until the end of Christmas eve to stock up on your goodies. We are extending our opening hours for the shop as follows: Monday 20 December 9:30am to 5:00pm Tuesday 21 December 9:30am to 5:00pm Wednesday 22 December 9:30am to 5:00pm Thursday 23 December 9:30am to 7:00pm Friday 24 December 9:30am to 2:30pm The shop will then be closed for a short break, reopening as normal on Tuesday 4 January. During our festive break, our webstore will not accept any new orders until we return in January. For refunds/exchanges, you have up to Sunday 23 January to complete these.
