We are so thrilled to be part of the #OurWhitleyBay initiative which is quickly gaining speed here in the town. Our Whitley Bay is a collection of dedicated business owners and service providers all with something unique to offer, along with plenty of passion for raising awareness and celebrating everything which is great here at the coast. In one of our previous blog entries, we mentioned about how things are finally beginning to change, and there are many reasons to look forward to what is happening in Whitley Bay over the next couple of years. We've been asked a few times since we opened whether we have gift vouchers available and we're happy to say that finally we do! Our gift vouchers are on sale now can be used by the recipient in store or via our website as we'll include a unique coupon code on each voucher, just in case they can't make it to the shop. The vouchers come with their own envelope and can be bought at our Whitley Bay store. You can specify any value that you want. They will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase so there's plenty of time for the recipient to get spending! We're admitting defeat with Sunday opening for the time being, at least until the temperatures outside get a little bit warmer! Since launching three months ago, we've been open every Sunday but unfortunately most of the other stores on the street aren't so things are very quiet and it's not financially viable to power and heat the shop when there's nobody outside to come in. So, until the country heats up here are our opening hours: Monday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause but please make an effort to call in through the rest of the week if you can. Whitley Bay is fighting back. The town has seen its fair share of hard times over recent years but things are beginning to finally look up. Investment is taking place along the sea front and while this seems to be taking an age to complete, there are now visible changes noticeable, especially around the old Spanish City site which has been an eyesore for several years. We chose Whitley Bay to open our store because we can see the passion and adoration that people have for it, and that's just the local business owners. Park View, where we are based, is full of unique independent retailers and service providers. We're sure they won't mind us saying that they aren't exactly thriving right now but there is a feeling that things are soon going to change. Whitley Bay used to be *THE* place to shop, especially at Park View "where all of the posh shops are". We want to help make the town return to its former glory. We've joined the local Chamber of Trade and are supporting the new #OurWhitleyBay scheme which aims to promote and showcase the brilliant things which are taking place here. But we can't all do it alone. We need YOU - the shopper. Please engage with all of the great campaigns that we're doing, change your shopping habits - only for one day of the week - and have a walk through the town centre to see what you have been missing for all of this time.
