We know how talented the folk of the north east are, just look at all of the local labels we sell. Do you want to be part of them? We're giving you the chance to design something to feature on a t-shirt range which we will sell in our store! Our t-shirts sell not only locally but have also made their way across the world to places such as Australia, the USA and Thailand so your design could literally travel thousands of miles. Up for the challenge? Here's the info: The brief We would like a design which shouts about how lush this part of the country is - maybe featuring something familiar about Whitley Bay or some of the rich history that the local area has to tell. Or maybe you fancy looking to the future and want to focus on the fantastic regeneration work taking place at the moment. Your design can be digital or paper based, as long as it is easy to convert into something which can be produced to print on clothing. If using digital, please ensure that the dpi and quality are at a high level so none of the detail is lost. We don't mind whether you use full colour or black and white. And of course it goes without saying that it must be all your own original work, designed especially for this competition. The prize Your design will be printed onto t-shirts which will be sold exclusively in our shop, and online. You will receive your own t-shirt, a £50 voucher to spend in store and 20% off all future purchases with us for the next year. We might even throw in a few additional extras too. The exposure that you will get from winning the competition is immense - we are heavy users of social media and will also send out a press release to let the world know about the design. If you're thinking of starting off as a clothing designer, this could give you a fantastic start and it won't cost you a penny to get your first clothing line off the ground. How to submit your entry You can email it directly to info@hamiedog.co.uk (zip it up if it's a large file) or call in to our shop at 77 Park View with a memory stick or the physical design on paper. Make sure to include all of your contact details in case you are the winner. Closing date Please submit your entry by 30 June 2018. How the winner is chosen We will shortlist our favourites from the entries then will put them out to a public vote, which will decide the final winning design. Other details There is no minimum/maximum age limit for the competition and it is open to everyone from everywhere. No alternative prize is available. The sun is here and it is a bank holiday weekend - that can mean only one thing: GET TO THE BEACH! We are taking a well earned break this weekend and will be closed on Sunday 6th May, along with Bank Holiday Monday 7th May. Business as usual however on Tuesday 8th May and we are also planning to be open on Wednesday 9th May, timings to be confirmed. Enjoy the sun everyone!

Sometimes you want to place an order but are worried that you might miss the postman/lady , especially if you're out at work. We now have the solution - for £4.99 per order we will personally deliver to your address in the evening (from 6pm to 8pm) as long as you live in one of the selected postcode areas below. What's even better is that local delivery is available in the evenings 7 days a week. We're opening late this Thursday especially for you. We know that many of you can't make it to the shop through the day because of work, and weekends are often too busy so why not come by in the evening? Our first late night shopping event is taking place on: Thursday 3rd May 2018 5pm to 7pm So it's right after pay day for a lot of us which means that you can give yourself a treat! Plus if enough of you are interested we could make this a regular thing every first Thursday evening of the month, or even every Thursday if there's a demand. The High Street. Once the hub of the community, the place to go for all of your groceries and meet up with friends. Fast forward to 2018 and the High Street is still there but it is feeling a little bit abandoned. It's nobody's fault, times have changed. Retail and shopping habits have changed a lot, even in the last ten years alone. There are many reasons that the experts tell us are the cause - the internet is generally one of them, combined with the rising costs of simply running a business. It's not all bad though. Your High Street is open for business. Between the closed down empty units, our independent retailers and service providers are the little gems shining through this difficult trading period. We love bringing you local brands and we're so excited to announce two more labels to add to our collection. So from today we have new lines by Anarchy Strength and Archangel Apparel on sale both in store and online. We'd like to give you a bit of a background on both of these collections that we can't wait to see you wearing! Anarchy Strength are based in North Tyneside and have a massive focus on the gym scene, with famous athletes already taking a liking to their range of clothing. The three founders of the company all met through a love of strongman training, and the rest as they say is history. The great thing about the range of clothing we have available from Anarchy Strength is the fact that they range from Small up to 2XL, so if you find it tricky to get the right gear for your body type, chances are you will be able to get it from this collection. And you don't have to be a fan of the gym to look good in their range, we love their eye catching logo and think you will too. Archangel Apparel is literally on our doorstep, right here in Whitley Bay - so we couldn't get more local if we tried! How do you fancy having your original work played to customers in our Whitley Bay store? We're looking for several local musicians - solo artists and bands - who write and perform their own original material that would like to have their performances played in store through our speakers! This is a great opportunity for you to get your name and sound out there to the folk of Whitley Bay and if they like what they hear, they may even buy your album or come and see you live. Interested? Here's what we're after: Band/Duo/Solo Artist based in the North East All original tracks without any performance rights Styles preferred - Pop, R&B, soft rock, electric, soul Performances recorded to good quality MP3 or similar You must be happy for us to play your music through our in-store music system and we can't stress enough that all tracks must be original without any copyright or performance restrictions. What we'll give you: We will play your music during our opening hours for an agreed period, alongside other local artists who may also be interested. If you have a poster advertising yourself, we'll display this in store so people know who they're listening to and if you have any pre-recorded albums we will sell them on your behalf for a small commission fee. We'll also mention you regularly via our website and social media platforms for no cost whatsoever. Why are we doing this? By now you'll know how much we LOVE supporting local talent - so far that has been local clothing labels and local lads who model for us, but we'd now like to extend that love by shouting about other talents that the north-east has. Plus it means that we don't have to pay a fortune every year to play copyright protected music in our store (hence why your tracks must be original and royalty free). There is absolutely no catch here, we genuinely are keen to promote local talent (we might want a couple of free tickets to your next gig though). I'm interested - what do I need to do?
