  • Late Night Christmas Shopping

Whitley Bay is set to be buzzing as the whole town joins together for an evening of festive shopping, food, drinks and entertainment as we approach Christmas day. Supported by the Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade, Thursday 2nd December is the night in question and businesses will be extending their hours from 4pm onwards - many retail shops will be staying open until 8pm but it is best to check with each individual store to be on the safe side. We are pleased that Hamiedog will be open on the day from 10am until 8pm so there are hours and hours of shopping time for you to pick up that festive bargain for your loved ones or even treat yourself to something special. Last year's Christmas shopping experience was a bit of a low key event with the effects of Covid and the various lockdowns which were taking place at the time, but this year is going to be totally different - but still safe of course. So if you want to wear your face mask inside our shop please do so, our staff may also be wearing theirs too. Please spread the word and and for more information on the evening itself check out the official Facebook event. We look forward to seeing you!

  • Sponsorship Announcement

We are really pleased to be able to sponsor the U11 Lionesses team at Whitley Bay Sporting Club for their 2021-22 season. We are always up for getting involved in the local community when we can, and we know that the girls are going to go on to good things this year, especially if their 7-1 win on their first game is anything to go by! Good luck from us all at Hamiedog and we look forward to following your successes! Find out more about the club at www.whitleybaysportingclub.co.uk.

  • Covid Measures in store from 19 July

Sometimes it is hard to know what we're allowed and not allowed to do, everyone has their own opinions and for business it makes things tricky. But things are about to change. It is being called "Freedom Day" but we still need to be extremely careful. Restrictions around social distancing in England come to an end from Monday 19 July but we are going to be taking a cautious approach. This time around, it's all about choice and being sensible. We will respect your choice and hope that you will respect ours too, when shopping with us. Here's the info. Staff in store have chosen to continue to wear face coverings when a customer is inside the shop. We would like you to also wear a face covering, but it is your choice if you decide not to. We won't query this. Hand sanitiser is available in the shop and we'd like you to use this please. We also have some free disposable face masks which you are welcome to take. If the shop looks too busy, please wait outside for people to leave. Our fitting room is available as normal. Any items which are tried on but not purchased will be sanitised and steamed before they are put out on sale again. We'd still like you to remove the hangers from your purchase so that we can sanitise them. We're trialling temporarily removing the perspex screens from the counter. If you choose not to wear a mask, please keep your distance. It's not rocket science, it's about being sensible and looking after each other. Whatever your thoughts are on the pandemic, it is still here and will be for quite some time. Be kind.

  • We're out of lockdown

From the week commencing 12th April 2021, non-essential retail is finally allowed to trade again. We're pleased to be able to open in our Whitley Bay store once more and have extended our opening hours for the first week of being back, so you can catch us in store Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5:00pm. After this first week we will revert back to our standard opening hours. As we continue to live with Covid-19 in our lives, we still need to all be careful and look after each other. Please ensure that you wear a mask when you shop with us, unless you are exempt. Hand sanitiser is available in the shop for you to use, and we also have some spare disposable masks (although we'd prefer you to come prepared). The shop is going to be regularly cleaned throughout the day and all 'touch points' will be sanitised to ensure we're all staying safe. We've removed some of the fixtures to provide you more room while you're in the building, and allowing a maximum of 6 shoppers inside at any one point. Please remember to stay a sensible distance apart from other people and if the shop is looking too busy we ask that you wait outside or come back later. Our fitting room is open for use and we will sanitise all items of clothing which have been tried on but not purchased. Not only will we sanitise them with hot steam (which is normally more than enough), but we'll also spray everything with special fabric disinfectant spray which kills up to 99.99% of bacteria. So that's a double blast that everything will get! The perspex screens will still be present at the counter and you'll need to hand your purchase through to us after removing the hanger, which will also be sanitised. We're suspending our free local hand delivery option for the time being, now that we are back in store, but may revisit this idea again in the future if the demand is there. Our staff in store have been vaccinated and are regularly tested. The main thing though is that we are BACK! And we've missed you all.

  • We're preparing to re-open (again)

We are now in March and like many businesses classed as 'non essential' we have been forced to close for most of the last year. The good news is that if all goes according to plan we are able to re-open in April. We can't wait to be back in the shop again and so our re-opening date is Monday 12 April, unless circumstances change. As we've been away for so long we will be open on our first week from Monday to Saturday inclusive so you're got six whole days to get your Hamiedog fix once more! The exact hours will be confirmed a bit closer to the time. We are also pleased to be able to offer you fitting room facilities again, with strict cleansing and sanitisation procedures in place for this area and the rest of the shop. Thanks again to everyone who has shopped online while we have been closed. We can't tell you how much it has meant to us. So, hopefully not long to wait. Keep watching our website and social pages for the latest updates and we hope to see you in person very soon.

  • We've updated our delivery options

In the current situation we have found that Royal Mail are unfortunately struggling with demand for their services so we have removed that option from our delivery methods and replaced it with an even cheaper and more reliable service via courier. Our new flat rates will actually save you money and also have a tracking service with them which we will share with you after you check out. If you spend over £75 we are pleased to offer a completely free delivery service to you via courier. We are still happy to be able to offer you click and collect every Saturday in addition to our free local delivery service to selected postcodes within the North Tyneside area. If you need something super urgently, just get in touch via email as there is always a solution. We're looking forward to welcoming you in store again. We don't know when that will be sadly, but please continue to shop with us online during this uncertain time.

  • Returns & exchanges during lockdown

We know that many of you will have received Christmas gifts purchased from our store and some of you might need to exchange or return something. With our physical shop being temporarily closed, we have changed our returns policy and the latest date for refunds and exchanges has been extended until lockdown is over and we can reopen again. So if you can hang on to your items and keep them in brand new condition, we will happily sort things out when you can visit us in person. However, if you do need to resolve an issue sooner than that, it isn't a problem. Just contact us via email (please don't message us on here as they are sometimes missed) and we will come up with a solution. Our email address is: info@hamiedog.co.uk. We really appreciate your support and hope to have a restock of our collections soon.

  • Shopping with us during Tier 4 restrictions

Welcome to 2021. Like the majority of England we are now in another lockdown style restriction with the introduction of Tier 4 from 31 December. As we are classed as 'non-essential' we have been forced to close our store door once more (although supermarkets don't seem to have been affected again). Rather than get into the politics of it all, which frankly we can't really be bothered with, here's how you can shop with us during this period. Online shopping Our web store is operating as normal and the majority of our stock is available from it. We're regularly adding new items to the line up so please keep coming back regularly. Stock levels are live so if something is showing as available, then it normally should be. There may be rare times when the website isn't quite up to date but if this happens we will let you know. Delivery We're offering standard postage options as normal. Local delivery Our free local delivery offer is also still available. As long as you live within the selected postcode areas you can choose the free doorstep delivery option during checkout. We will observe all social distancing guidelines and it will be us delivering your order, not a courier service. Therefore if you go for this option, please ensure that you are going to be at home to take the order. If not, we will leave it on your doorstep but can't be held responsible for what might happen to it after we leave. Click and Collect The government has allowed click and collect to also continue during lockdown. This means that you can choose the store collection option during checkout. Please note that as the shop itself is closed, we are only going to be able to offer you a Click and Collect pickup window of a Saturday between 11:00am and 2:30pm. We are going to be at the shop especially for the collection of online orders during this time. You will not be able to come in to the shop, but please knock on our door and we will come to you. You will need to confirm your name and if possible please show us your confirmation email. We hope you can understand that it's just not possible for us to wait at the shop every day for online order collections as this could make for a very long day when the actual store is closed. Wish order collections We have a separate help page for those customers who use our store as a collection point for their Wish shopping orders. Please check it out here. Returns, exchanges, refunds At the moment we would prefer to wait until the shop is open again to deal with returns, exchanges and refunds. We will extend the returns period to account for lockdown. However, we understand that you might need your order issue resolving sooner rather than later. In this case please drop us an email to info@hamiedog.co.uk and explain exactly what the problem is. We'll do our best to reply to you within 48 hours, with a hope of speedily resolving the issue. Please don't come to the door with a return, unless we have agreed this already. Questions or queries? This situation, although we have been through it before, is still unsettling to everyone. Guidelines seem to be changing sometimes on a daily basis so please bear with us. As we aren't in the shop as often during lockdown, contacting us on the phone is not the quickest way of getting in touch because we aren't there to take the call. Instead please email us any questions or queries to info@hamiedog.co.uk. Please be as detailed as possible and we will reply as soon as we can. This is far from ideal but the end is hopefully in sight. Lockdown is happening in the hope that it slows down the spread of covid-19 until we are all safely vaccinated. We all have a part to play, whether we agree with the government's stance or not... now is not the time to complain about the situation. We have to accept what it is and deal with it as best we can. We hope that you will all continue to shop local in 2021. We still have the same amount of fantastic goods available, the only difference is the way you will be buying them. The big players like the supermarkets are allowed to open and sell whatever they want to people. They can take the hit if you don't go there for that t-shirt or sweater. Small businesses like ours can't take as much of that hit so please bear that in mind when thinking about your new year shopping. Thank you all so much for the loyalty and support you have shown us already. We've been here before and we got through it together. Let's stay positive and do the same again.

  • Important information for Wish customers

As we enter the Tier 4 situation in England, our retail shop is forced to close until at least mid-January. With this in mind we know that many Wish customers who use our store as a collection point will have some questions. We will try and answer as many as we can here. Please note that we are only a collection point for Wish orders. We do not have access to your account or your contact details. Please contact Wish directly via the app with any detailed enquiries. When can I collect my Wish order while your shop is closed? Our shop is available for customer collection every Saturday from 11:00am until 2:30pm during lockdown. Please only call for your order if your Wish app is showing it as ready for collection. You will not be able to come into the shop but please knock on our door and a member of staff will scan your QR code from your Wish app and pass your order to you. Don't forget to bring your phone with you as we can't release your order until we have scanned the code from it. We may be dealing with other Wish customers, or our own customers, during this period so please bear with us if you have to wait for a short time. I can't come to the shop on a Saturday to collect my Wish order. How can I get it? Please email us: info@hamiedog.co.uk. We will come up with a solution so that you are able to pick up your order. Please be patient as we are trying to deal with Wish queries as well as being forced to close our own business. We will get back to you as soon as we can. The phone line into the shop is likely to not be answered whilst we are closed. When will my order be ready for collection? We don't know which orders are going to be ready for collection until we receive them from the courier. Even then, the orders do not show your name so until we scan your code we don't know which orders are for which customer. Please do not call to our store to pick up your Wish order unless it is showing in your app as ready for collection. We recommend that you contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app as they have access to your details and should be able to help you with timescales. There may be a delay in us receiving your order from the courier as we will not always be at the shop to accept it. My Wish order was showing as ready for collection but now it isn't? Please contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app. We can't help you with this query because we don't have access to your account. My order is showing as refunded, why is this? Please contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app. We can't help you with this query because we don't have access to your account. What happens if my order is not collected? The Wish process is that uncollected orders are refunded (sometimes minus a fee) and the item/s are made available for other customers to buy. If your order has been refunded we are not allowed to give it to you. Please contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app if you need to enquire further about this. We are unable to hold on to uncollected orders for longer than the time specified by Wish so please do not ask us to do so - we can't override their rules or processes. Can someone else collect my order on my behalf? Yes, but they must provide us with the QR code from the Wish app because we need to scan this in to identify your parcel. Neither Hamiedog Menswear or Wish can be responsible for the fulfilment of orders which are shared with third parties by you, i.e. please only share your Wish order details with someone you can trust to pass on the parcel to you. I have a problem with my order, what should I do? Please contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app. Can I return an order to Wish through your shop? Unfortunately not, we are only a pickup point not a drop off point. You will need to contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app. I have a different question which isn't answered here. Please contact Wish Customer Services via the Wish app. As already mentioned above, our store is only a pickup point. We don't see what is inside your parcel, we don't know which parcel is for which customer until we scan the code in your Wish app and we are unable to offer a delivery service for Wish orders. Basically, we have no control over any element of the process apart from the pickup of your item. Everything prior to that point is managed by Wish. Thanks for your co-operation and understanding during what is going to be another difficult time for us all. We will try as much as we can to help you with your Wish order, but largely our hands are tied by the procedures put in place by Wish. We are required to abide by their rules in order for us to offer this service. This page was last updated on 2 January 2021.

  • Free local delivery to selected postcodes

We are continuing to offer our free local delivery promotion until further notice, especially as the region is facing an uncertain future in relation to the current Covid-19 pandemic. While we would love to see you in store, we understand completely why this might be difficult for some people and so if you buy online and live locally we can deliver to your home using social distancing methods. Free delivery is available to the following postcode areas: NE25 NE26 NE27 NE28 NE29 NE30 Delivery will be made on either a Wednesday evening (6pm to 8pm) or Sunday afternoon (4pm to 6pm). We will be personally delivering any items using this service. Please ensure that you only choose this option if you live within the selected postcode areas and that it is safe for us to do so. We will send you a text message or email to let you know we're on the way and on arrival will ring your door bell and place the order on your step / in front of your door. If you are not at home, we will leave the order on your doorstep. Please note that we can not claim any responsibility for items going missing after we leave so we would appreciate you only arranging free delivery if you know you (or someone else) are going to be at home to receive it. If ordering on the same day as delivery, please note that the cut off time is 3pm (so if it is Wednesday and you place an order after 3pm, we probably won't be able to deliver on the same day after this time). You may live outside of these postcode areas and require your order urgently. We may be able to work something out - please contact us via email (info@hamiedog.co.uk) to discuss possible options. This is a free service which we are offering to help with the current situation. It may be withdrawn at any time. If you have any queries please don't hesitate to get in touch.

  • Modelling Update

Some of you will remember before lockdown was even a thing, that we had a major push to get more local lads on our modelling books and we had a fantastic response. Just before Covid-19 hit, we were about to make plans for our first modelling shoots featuring some of our applicants. In fact we managed to fit in one photoshoot before things got pretty serious out there. We have had to place a temporary hold on our plans for the time being and have only been able to use 1 or 2 of our regular models, under very strict conditions during the photo shoots. All shoots for the moment are temporarily suspended until we move down into a less restrictive tier. But we want to reassure you that everyone who has applied - we WILL be in contact with so please don't think you have been forgotten about, because you haven't. Our plan is to use as many local lads as possible, of all ages, sizes, shapes and appearance. There is room for everyone. As we have said before, we all wear clothes so our photographs need to reflect that they are suitable for all. If you haven't yet applied but fancy it, just visit our page at www.hamiedog.co.uk/models and complete the online application form. We will keep you all updated as and when the restrictions mean that we can get back to normal. Thank you to EVERYONE who has applied so far, we are really looking forward to working with you - when we are allowed to :o)

  • Christmas Opening Hours

We've changed our opening hours around the Christmas period so that we are here for you all the way up to Christmas eve. We are approaching the mad pre-Christmas rush and we want to make sure we're giving you as many options as possible so you can get your presents in time for the big day. Also, for the first time ever, we're taking a very short break to re-charge the batteries between Christmas and new year so here's a look at our temporary hours: Wednesday 23 December: 11am to 4pm Thursday 24 December: 10am to 4pm We will then be closed from Friday 25 December reopening on Saturday 2 January from 10am to 5pm As we have been so busy over the festive shopping period, our website is now operating a click and collect service only as we have passed the Royal Mail recommended last posting dates for Christmas delivery. We will return to normal in January when you can choose from our regular delivery options. This year has certainly been different and not without several challenges. Thanks for bearing with us as we have all adjusted to the new way of working. At this point we don't know whether we will be facing further restrictions in January, although they are looking quite likely. Please keep an eye on our website and social media pages where we will keep you informed. Thank you to everyone who has shopped local this year. We appreciate your support so much. It is YOU who has kept our local shops alive and our high streets looking healthy and loved. Let's keep this going into 2021. We send our best wishes and positivity to you all for the new year.
